2-3 weeks in early 2026 Hawaii vs. Hokkaido vs. Barcelona vs. Italy?

Hi, we just got married and haven’t gone on our honeymoon yet. We both work corporate jobs but we’re thinking of just using all of our 14 day PTOs for our honeymoon next year.

We are not really well-traveled so we’re having a hard time planning 😅

Since early 2026 means winter season we were told most of Europe will be closed and cold even if we visit Italy or Spain and it won’t be as good as visiting during the Fall or summer. Also, with the latest anti-tourist sentiment in Europe not sure if we want to deal with potential confrontations even though it’s probably a small chance.

We have a lot of friends who went to Japan and we love Japanese food so we thought of Japan as an option as well… but obviously this is a longer flight.

We’re also opened to visiting two countries/places so like Spain + Italy OR Japan + Hawaii.

All in all, I think we’re just kind of overwhelmed with our season being in the winter and not really knowing what to expect. We just need it to be a romantic and relaxing trip while also experiencing something new. And of course safety is a big thing for us as well…..
