Hi! This is far in advance, but I’m type A and love to plan. I’m looking into doing a 16-18 day honeymoon in Portugal (June 2026). Our main location would be Madeira for 4-5 days. We’re coming from East Coast US, so it’s cheapest for us to fly into Lisbon.
I wanted to do 2-3 days in Lisbon to start then fly over to Madeira for 4-5 days. Not exactly sure what to do when we get back to the main land. Since we’re going to be doing a lot of hiking and exploring in Madeira, I was thinking we would fly back to Lisbon and then take the day to travel to Laos. Maybe have a more laid back 3-5 days down in Algarve and rent one of those boats to take us around Laos.
That still leaves us with some time to travel (open to renting a car).
I hear a lot of great things about Porto, but I think it would be too ambitious to try to get every part of Portugal in this trip. Again, not really sure… it’s our first time over there. I am open to any and all suggestions!
