A little lat for planning but I’d like your best advice for Curaçao

We are on day 1 at an all inclusive resort that is tucked well away from civilization. I think renting a car is going to be needed at some point to see the island. What would you say the most important things are for someone on Day 1 with roughly 7 days to go.
