Advice: splurge on honeymoon or use credit card points and save money for future use?

Advice needed for a bride planning a honeymoon winter/spring 2026 🙂

Initially I had my heart set on Xcaret Arte for our honeymoon, we are not doing a registry for our wedding and instead we have set up a honeymoon fund, so we planned to use that money to splurge on a very nice vacation! However when Chase had their crazy sign up bonus a few months ago both my fiance and I signed up and we are set to get our 100k points within the next few weeks. With both of our cards and all of the wedding spending we have been doing, we will end up with approx. 300k chase points.

Now my dilemma is this: stick with the original plan and spend $5-7k for a week at Xcaret Arte, or use my chase points (most likely transfer to Hyatt) and book the honeymoon for very little money. That would leave us with several thousand dollars to stick in our savings which as new homeowners thinking about starting a family soon-ish, is very tempting. However, I fear that if we don't do Xcaret for our honeymoon we likely never will. I tend to be pretty frugal and don't think I will be able to justify spending that much money on just a vacation in the future, especially if we have kids.

Friends and family have tried talking me into one way or the other, so I am seeking some outside opinions to help with my decision!
