African Safari under 20k?

Hello, I'm planning to propose in the next couple of months.

my GF has always wished to go on an African Safari as a Honeymoon destination. from what i have heard and read its a very expensive experience. as i have been saving for all of this. i believe i can put together up to 20k for a honeymoon.

would this be a realistic budget for a couple of days in a safari and then moving on to a beach or the Arab gulf?

anyone with recent experience with this that could chime in?

i know spending all my time in a safari would quickly drain the budget. but say 4-5 nights at a nice safari and 2 weeks in other place?

I'd like it to be around 3 weeks total if possible. but could cut some days to have a more luxury experience.

could anyone tell me if I'm way off base or could reasonably do it?

im based in north america so the flights would likely be long and expensive.
