Awkward night time flight

We’re heading to Zanzibar for our honeymoon in September, and the flights we’ve booked have such awkward times!

We arrive in Zanzibar at 2 am on the 13th before heading on Safari on the 14th at 7 am, so we’ve booked a hotel near the airport for those two nights. We’re hoping to spend the 13th checking stone town out and preparing for our Safari.

The question I have is for the way back. The flight from Zanzibar back home is at 3 am on the 25th of September and we will be staying in Le Mersenne from 22-24 September (2 nights). Should we book a third night to spend the day before our flight (c.£170), or go for a cheaper hotel in stone town / near the airport (£60-£130)?

Part of me thinks staying at Le Mersenne means we have another full day to enjoy up to 10 pm in a part of the island where we have only spent so little time (previous 5 nights in Nungwi), What would you do?
