My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon for October 2026 and would love some destination recommendations. We know that traveling in October can limit our options, and unfortunately, Europe is off the table since it’ll be too cold. So, we’re focusing on tropical destinations like Hawaii, the Maldives, Fiji, Bali, or Bora Bora.
We’re torn because we love the idea of adventure and exploring, like driving a Jeep around Hawaii. But we’re also drawn to the overwater bungalows in Bora Bora or the Maldives—when else in life are we realistically going to splurge on that if not during our honeymoon?
We’re also not really “sit-on-the-resort” the entire time people. We like to get out and explore, so we’re leaning toward places where that’s safe and easy to do. From what I’ve heard, in the Maldives, it’s not as easy (or safe) to go off-resort, which makes me think Hawaii, Fiji, or Bali might suit us better.
We’re also huge foodies, and food is such a big part of our relationship. A destination with amazing cuisine is a must!
So, with all that in mind: • Does anyone have recommendations for where we should go? • Are there any must-do itineraries, like island hopping in Fiji or Bali? • Any specific resorts or accommodations that you loved?
We’re looking for the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and incredible food. Thank you in advance for your advice!
