Hello everyone!
My fiancé and I are going to Italy from Sept. 9 to Sept. 28. We're not huge "itinerary" people, but would love for you to help us finish the tail end of it. This is our rough plan so far:
Milano & Varenna (Already Booked)
- Arrive in Milano in the am on Sept. 9 and take a train straight to Varenna
- Stay in Varenna and explore Lake Como from Sept. 9 until the morning of Sept. 13
- Travel to Milano and spend the day of Sept. 13 exploring the city
- Watch AC Milan beat Bologna the following day on Sept. 14 #ForzaMilan
- Leave Milano the morning of Sept. 15
Modena & Bologna (Already Booked)
- Arrive in Modena, where we will be staying for this portion on Sept. 15
- Spend the following day visiting the Ferrari museums and town, on Sept. 16
- Travel to Bologna on Sept. 17 to eat, walk around, and take it all in
- Leave from Modena on Sept. 18 in the am
This is where you come in. We have 10 or so days to play with from this point on, and we know we want to do the following: watch Lazio-Rome on Sept. 21, and do a whole lot of swimming and relaxing on the best beaches we possibly can, before coming up to Milano again, where we fly out of on Sept. 28
Our biggest hurdle is finding a place between Modena and Rome to kill those two to three days with swimming. We want to find a beach town with unique beaches that resemble the vibe of the south coast, or are at least close to it — beaches that aren't shallow, or have hundreds of beach club chairs lined up.
After the Lazio-Rome game, we would like to find another base on the west coast close to the water, where we can do some more swimming and relaxing before heading back to Milano to leave.
That's it! We'd love to see what the magic of Reddit can do. Help us find our last bases, thank you!
