Hi all! We are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon in April 2025. We are visiting 3 islands – starting in Maui (to relax and just do beach/lazy stuff in the few days right after our wedding), and ending in Oahu/Honolulu (easier to fly home out of here).
My question for you all – should we go to Kauai or the big island (east side) for the second leg of our trip? For this part of our trip, we want to mainly explore as many beautiful sites / naturey things as possible. We don’t really want the beach / relax vibe. The east side of the big island seems insane from what I’ve seen online – lots of rainforests, interesting/new climates, volcanoes, etc. it would be perfect except there aren’t many places to stay. Alternatively, I’ve heard great things about Kauai (lots of scenery), and it seems like it would be easier to find a place to stay in our budget.
Any thoughts? Thank you 🙂
