Help us pick a destination

My husband and I recently got married and we are now ready to plan our honeymoon! We plan to travel in the summer based on my work schedule. First, we thought a Sandals type of vacation as we both love the beach and a relaxing vacation. We then realized that we have been fortunate enough to take some beach vacations together already and want something a bit different. I had thrown out Portugal. He is into Australia or New Zealand, but that just doesn’t seem like a good choice given the alternate seasons.

What are some destinations that would satisfy our love of beaches and relaxation while also being a bit more “special” for a honeymoon? We also love wine and checking out great restaurants. While we’d be into a bit of sightseeing, we don’t want to feel obligated to do too much of that. We are in the Northeastern US and are pretty flexible about where we go, although I’d like to avoid a major time different if possible.
