Help Us Pick a Honeymoon Destination! Feeling Overwhelmed

Hello all!

My fiancée and I are getting married on June 20, 2026, and we’ve just started planning our honeymoon. We’ll be flying out of Detroit, MI, and based on our research so far, we’ve been considering destinations like Greece, Maldives, and Bora Bora—but honestly, we’re open to any suggestions!

We’re working with a budget of $10,000–$12,000 for 7–10 days. Our ideal trip would be mostly relaxation-focused: beautiful beaches, warm sun, amazing food, and maybe a few light activities or excursions (jetski, bicycles, snorkeling, etc.). We're not trying to cram in a ton—just want to enjoy time together in a beautiful, memorable place.

I’ve been doing a lot of research and honestly starting to feel a bit overwhelmed by all the options and opinions out there. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s taken a similar kind of trip—what destinations did you love (or not love), and why? Any tips, or resorts/hotels you’d recommend? I am not looking for a travel agent, I like to book directly with airlines, resorts, and hotels.
