Hi! I’m getting married at the end of January and planning my honeymoon for the end of February. I’m from Delhi (India) and I really want to do a European honeymoon.
When I first started planning, the only countries in my mind were France, Switzerland, Spain, and Italy. Paris and Switzerland are out because they’ll be way too cold that time of year. Spain was an option, but Italy always sounded the most interesting and romantic to me, so that’s what I’ve been leaning toward.
But recently, Instagram reels are full of posts about thefts, overcrowding, and how Europe (especially places like Paris) has “lost its charm.” It made me wonder if Italy is still a good choice for a honeymoon or if I’m setting myself up for disappointment.
So I wanted to ask: • If not Italy, are there any other good European options for end of February? • Is Italy still worth visiting that time of year? • Am I overthinking the theft/safety issue? • Has Europe really changed, or is social media just exaggerating?
I really want to go to Europe because it feels special for a honeymoon, but I don’t want to regret the decision. Would love honest experiences and suggestions!
