So, last year my (then) boyfriend and I traveled from Belgium to the west coast of the US, where he unexpectedly proposed and I of course said yes. We will get married next year in August and are now looking for a fabulous honeymoon, but it seems hard to top of our destination of last year (not complaining, it was the trip of a lifetime). In the US we visited as many national parks as we could (incl. Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Brice Canyon, Zion, Yosemite, Sequoia, Death Valley,…) and we were in awe of the nature and beauty and all the hikes combined with amazing landscapes. Looking for something similar or even more spectacular, because, you know, it's a honeymoon, has proven to be quite tough 🙂
What destinations can you all recommend for a couple that loves beautiful nature, a bit of adventure, enough to do, and some romantic spots (maybe a beach here and there but not a full week beach vacation)? We've also (outside of Europe) been to Thailand, Egypt and Peru together, and all of these trips were travels across the country, to give you an idea of the kind of destinations and the type of travel we love. So far we looked into Australia (too far of a flight for us), Azores/Madeira (seems too busy and quite rainy in August?), and Mexico (apparently it's hurricane season, so far for the good research). We fly from Belgium, try to keep that in mind. Also for some reason my fiancé is not very drawn to the African continent so I don't think I'll be able to convince him of a safari (apart from the fact that it probably doesn't fit into the budget).
Seperately we've already been to numerous amazing countries, like Iceland, Cuba, China and Nepal (me) and Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia (him). We'd prefer something completely new that neither of us have visited before.
We are willing to spend +- 2000 euros pp (flights excluded), would like some nice, warm weather and have about three weeks to spend. I realize this is all very much a luxury problem 🙂
Would love some great new ideas!
*edit: so the title went wrong, but I can't seem to change it, sorry about that
