Honeymoon June 2025 – ideally Caribbean

Hi all! We are trying to choose where to go for our Caribbean honeymoon – we are finding it hard as we have never been before! 🏝️

We are basing our search on the following criteria, loosely in decreasing order of importance:

• Beach/water quality – ideally snorkelling and sea turtles nearby 🙂

• Romantic feel

• Food quality / variety

• Some activities in case we get bored

I think we would prefer it to be an all inclusive and adults only, which I know removes quite a few options. If somewhere isn’t but ticks the boxes above we might also consider. Just as a note, we haven’t been to an AI before.

We will be there in mid to late June which means weather might be a factor for some places.

We are open to anywhere in the Caribbean really, and perhaps Mexico too.

We have a budget of around £8-9k or $10-11.5k for ~10 days (inc. flights, so more like £6-7k or $7.5-9k for accom), although willing to stretch a bit / remove a day for the perfect place. We are coming from the UK and wouldn’t mind a flight change for the perfect place, but obviously direct flights is less hassle.

Based on our budget and criteria we have ended up looking mostly at Negril in Jamaica and the west coast of Antigua. At the moment our top picks Couples Negril in Jamaica, Galley Bay Resort in Antigua.

Galley Bay seems to be the more romantic and "boutique" option, with a secluded beach and great reviews of the food, but we worry there might not be a lot to do and it might not be lively enough for us (we aren’t complete party animals but we are both ‘night owls’ and would probably like a bit of a boogie in the evening on some nights). Couples Negril is larger with a busier beach but has more food options (although quality seems to vary) and more activities nearby, but naturally seems to lose a bit of the intimate feel.

I have no idea how these beaches compare, both look lovely, has anyone been to both?

Are there any other places we could consider that match our criteria? 🙂

Final note – we have also thought of Mauritius and Seychelles in passing as alternatives – is there anything else around that fits our criteria that we might not have seen as we have been focussed on the Caribbean/Mexico?
