Hi everyone,
My wife (28f) and I (32m) are planning our honeymoon at the beginning of December with the car. We’ll start from Marseille (France) and driving back up to northern Germany (berlin), where we live. We’ll have about 15 days.
We want a mix of romantic, relaxing, and cozy experiences: hotels with spas, beautiful towns, light sightseeing, indoor and outdoor activities (not into skiing or extreme winter sports), and some nice food.
Here’s the itinerary we’ve drafted (trying to balance driving and relaxation):
- Day 1–3: Côte d’Azur (Nice).
- Day 4–5: Torino, Italy.
- Day 6–7: (optional) Lake Como.
- Day 8–9: (optional) Lucerne, Switzerland.
- Day 10–11: Zurich, Switzerland.
- Day 12: Rhine Falls (Germany).
- Day 13–14: return drive to berlin.
We’re considering hotels with private spa/jacuzzi options where possible, since we’d love to keep it intimate. Budget-wise, we’re not going luxury everywhere, but willing to splurge on some special nights if it worth the price.
Questions:
- Does this itinerary feel balanced between travel and relaxation? feel free to offer alternatives.
- Would you recommend spending more/less time in any of these places (e.g., more southern France / italy less/ less Switzerland)?
- Any hotel recommendations (especially with private spa options, but other suggestions are wellcome)?
- Are there hidden romantic spots we might be missing on this route?
Thanks a lot for your help – we’d love to make this honeymoon memorable but not overly exhausting!
