Is this doable/enough time? NZ or Hawaii

Fiancé and I are looking at options for our honeymoon next year. We would be leaving from Canada (East Coast) for 3 weeks. We're considering New Zealand, but we also would like around 5 days of luxury/relaxation so considered including some time on a nearby island (Fiji/Tahiti/Moorea/Bora Bora?). Is this a reasonable amount of time to see a good chunk of New Zealand without the trip feeling too hectic, and to make the ~24h flight time "worth it"? We definitely want to explore, visit a few different cities, and learn about the culture, but also don't want to feel like we're constantly rushing around. Also wondering about the best time of year to go, since we don't want it to be too cold in NZ, but also don't want to coincide with rainy season in the islands we're considering.

A second option we considered would be Hawaii since it's a little easier/closer to get to, but something about NZ keeps pulling me toward it.

Any advice/thoughts are appreciated 🙂
