My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon to Italy (2 weeks trip) for late April and early May 2026 and would love some advice from experienced travelers. Neither of us has been to Europe before, so we're looking for guidance on logistics and recommendations.
Our Planned Itinerary:
- Days 1-4: Venice (flying from US East Coast via London)
- Days 5-8: Rome (planning to take the train from Venice – ~4.5 hours. Costco Travel books this)
- Days 9-14: Sorrento (staying at an Airbnb near Marina Grande. Not going to use Costco Travel hotel just to switch it up and to stay closer to city center)
- Day 14: Depart from Naples Airport
Questions:
- Costco Travel – We're considering booking flights + hotels (Venice & Rome) through them. Has anyone used Costco Travel for Italy? Worth it?
- Transportation:
- How easy is it to book train tickets from Venice to Rome? Should we book in advance?
- Best way to get from Rome to Sorrento? Train, bus, or private driver?
- Easy to get a driver to take us to Naples Airport
- Recommendations or Past Experiences:
- Must-see spots in each city
- Restaurant recommendations
- Acitivies or Excursions for any of the cities
- Any "wish I had known" tips for first-time visitors?
We're so excited but also a bit overwhelmed with planning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
