Planning my honeymoon for next summer and it will be both my and husband’s first time leaving the USA. We will be visiting Italy for 2 weeks, arriving June 26 and leaving July 9. Is this itinerary doable, or too much? Our priorities are a mix of sightseeing and things to do, with romance and relaxation. We like stunning views and good food. We understand we are visiting in high season but want to try to not be packed in like sardines with crowds (I understand Venice will be crowded). Open to cutting 1 place out but do want to keep the 2 nights in Venice.
- Arrive in Milan at noon, train to Ligurian coast (Camogli or SML)
- 3 or 4 nights in Camogli or SML
- Day 4- train to Venice, spend 2 nights in Venice
- Day 6- travel to Ortisei, spend 3-4 nights
- Day 10- travel to Lake Garda, spend 3-4 nights (maybe in Malcesine?)
- Day 14- travel to Milan, fly home on evening flight
Not sure if we should designate more nights to the coast, the lake, or the mountains. Open to any feedback! Thanks!
