June 2026 – Santorini / Rome mash up help

Myself and my partner are planning our honeymoon for June 2026. We have found some lovely luxury (4 star) hotels in the Perivolos & Perissa area. We are looking for places where we have a lovely hotel but also there's stuff going on in the night, some restaurants, bars, some nights we can have a lively night others more chilled in a cocktail bar kind of vibe – so thoughts on the area of Santorini we have chosen is helpful.

But here is the reason I'm actually posting. We are worried 2 weeks in one place might get a bit samey for us and so we thought about flying to Rome first from UK (Liverpool / Manchester), 4 nights in Rome then flying straight to Santorini for 10 nights. We can't seem to book any flights from Rome to Santorini past October this year, I'm assuming it's because the route is seasonal? But that messed with our plans. We then thought about flying to Rome, flying back to the UK, staying in a hotel by the airport, then the next day flying to Santorini but worried that's too much messing.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we can blend those two locations together, or another city we could go to instead of Rome that we can look at flights to Santorini from, now. Another option is scrapping the city break first and just going straight to Santorini for 2 weeks but want to check all options first. And like I mentioned any opinions on Perivolos & Perissa helpful too.
