Kruger National Park – Overwhelmed by the lodge options

I'm a bit overwhelmed with the number of choices available. I'm looking for a private all inclusive lodge to stay.

My first option was Sabi Sands but it seems to be very expensive. Is there a good value for money option there? Lion sands river is way above our budget at 1500$ per person/night. We were hoping for closer to 1000$ per night for both but willing to stretch that budget.

Pondoro and Timbavati are also options that I saw. Could anyone share their experiences with these lodges?
