Dropped the ball on planning the honeymoon… we are fortunate to have travelled a fair amount over the years, mixing work with leisure and having travelled for work, we have crossed off some of our dream destinations already but not in recent couple years. We’d certainly love to travel and open to going back to some of the places we’ve been…we haven’t had a place high on our list for a while simply due to being so busy the last few years.
Looking for some ideas or resources to look up a destination with relatively good value, food, natural history (hikes), cultural experiences, where it’s not humid/wet end of May or early June. Probably looking at more chill/adventure type places. FH isn’t a fan of beachy resorts and underwater activities, luxury cruises.
We would be open to going somewhere we’ve been, I must have been to 50 countries or so… but would prefer somewhere we are visiting for the first time together and researching what could be an option so late in the game.
We always travelled fairly modestly with the exception of key activities and locales like the Giraffe Manor, travelling in HCOL areas, Seychelles or Safari in Serengeti, or occasional boujie tasting menus, so don’t know where to start for a ‘honeymoon’. Some places that we haven’t been that might be good for a honeymoon include Greece, Turkey, Czechia, southern Italy, southern France, Azores, French Polynesia, Latin and South America (only been to parts of Mexico and Colombia), Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, South and Central Asia. We would probably only have 10-14 days though coming from Canada.
Would love any tips from your experience and knowledge of destinations in May/June. TIA.
