Late May/June Honeymoon – 3 weeks in Taiwan, Borneo + KL [open to suggestions]

Hi all,

My partner and I are planning our honeymoon, which we think we're pretty set on (Taiwan anyways), but we're not quite sure if Borneo has that 'luxury' feel we're wanting, especially for our honeymoon.

Currently, we're splitting it as follows (flying from Heathrow):

• 5 days in Taiwan
• 7 days in Sabah Borneo (we are planning a 3 day wildlife excursion – Sepilok + the river)
• 8 days on Gaya Island, either staying in Gaya Island Resort or Bungaraya
• 1-2 days in KL

Anyone who has been to Borneo, would you recommend it, and if so, which parts? We do like the idea of SE Asia given the prices are a lot more reasonable than typical honeymoon destinations; so would be open to other ideas besides Borneo.

Our budget is around 7-10K GBP.
