(Late) October Honeymoon

Hello! (Not sure if I’ve ever made a post before on here but if so it’s been a while) My fiancé and I just got engaged recently and have our wedding the weekend of 10/24 next year. We’re trying to plan a honeymoon but we’re a bit overwhelmed with the amount of recommendations and options out there…also understanding that time of year rules out some places. Hoping that some of you can give us ideas of location, and if you have details on the specific resort (or wherever) you stayed I would appreciate it! Looking to go for about a week. What we’re interested in / looking for…

  • We’re looking to go somewhere we haven’t been before, so anything outside of USA, also ruling out Hawaii and Puerto Rico
  • We decided we want something tropical. On or near a beach. Would be a big plus if there’s some type of “hiking” or cool things to see. I’ve seen some places have waterfalls to hike around, volcanos, etc. We aren’t going to spend the entire vacation hiking / being in nature, but it would be something cool to do maybe a day or two.
  • Doesn’t necessarily need to be an all inclusive, but if it isn’t, somewhere that isn’t going to break the bank going out to eat every night and for most lunches. Not including airfare I would say our max is 10k total.

Final thoughts just how I’ve been navigating this over the past few weeks…we LOVED the idea of Greece. A little bit of the exploring aspect + beaches, but read that by late October / early November it’s not exactly warm enough for beaches most days, and some tourist things and restaurants close down. Looked into the Maldives for a bit, seems nice but a bit pricey + you’re locked into a very small island with one or two restaurants. Most of the Caribbean islands are still in hurricane season as well.
