Hi everyone! My soon to be wife and I (28M/29F, from Austria) are currently laying out initials plans for our honeymoon which should take lace in late September / October 2025. We would love some suggestions to make it an unforgettable trip.
We are both healthy and fit (for hikes and such), we enjoy good food (we are vegetarian) and since we started out as a dance couple we also love to dance (latin, ballroom). I am also a photographer so photogenic spots are a big plus (easy drone permits also).
A great option for us would be an open jaw flight – for example staying a few days in Dubai or similar and then continuing to a more nature focused destination. If applicate, we also use have partner programs of hotels like marriot, hilton etc – we get upgrades which could save some money.
Here’s what we’re looking for and what we expect:
- Beautiful scenery and great landscapes: Nature with breathtaking views and photogenic spots perfect for my photography passion.
- Warm adventure + relaxation: We’d love to mix a few days of light hiking or adventure with opportunities to relax, maybe with a bit of luxury.
- Cultural differences: We’re excited to explore a culture that’s different from Austria.
- Friendly people and safety: We're looking for a safe destination with warm and welcoming locals, which is a big plus.
- Affordable with luxury options: Our budget is around 2,500 € per person, with some flexibility (including flights).
- Our details:
- Schedule: 12-16 days in end of September / beginning of October, should be back by 22nd / 23rd October latest.
- Start Location: We’re initially starting our travels from Graz (Austria) and will probably be flying from Vienna (Austria) or nearby airports.
- Activities: Scenic nature and exploration of such, cultural exploration (temples, traditions), and a bit of luxury and relaxation.
- Past trips: We’ve been to Iceland, Swedish Lapland, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Croatia, and we love both adventure and relaxation.
- Food: We are both vegetarian and love to eat local cuisine. We are not really into all-inclusive burger-pizza-pasta hotels.
What we already considered as options:
- Himalaya Region: Nepal for the great scenery and friendly people. However, we would love something more luxurious.
- Thailand / Malaysia + Singapur: Thailand for its beautiful nature, Malaysia for Kuala Lumpur and Singapur for the city as well. The warm climate, good food and friendly people.
- Maledives or Seychelles: Breathtaking beaches, warm climate and caribic vibes. However, we have heard mixed things about those destinations.
- Carnary Islands: Feels like Iceland with the option to actually enjoy the sea haha!
- (Lower) Africa: We know someone from Johannesburg and after talking to them we are a bit concerned about safety. The nature is interesting though.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
