I just got back from proposing at Islas Secas, and we absolutely loved it. I'm now starting to think ahead to our honeymoon and was hoping for some suggestions.
What made Secas so special for us was how inclusive and effortless the entire experience was. All meals, drinks, excursions, and transportation were included, which made it easy to focus on each other and be fully present. We’re also both pretty active, so we loved the range of physical activities—scuba diving, wakesurfing, seabobbing, hiking, etc.
For our honeymoon, I think we’d love somewhere that offers that same level of thoughtful service and all-inclusiveness. We’re drawn to places that are a bit off the beaten path or less touristy. For example, I’ve been eyeing Six Senses Bhutan and Amankora—both seem like great fits: immersive, well-organized, and in quieter destinations.
We’d especially welcome ideas in: Central Asia (the ‘Stans), Africa (especially non-coastal or unusual safari/lodge options), or the Mid-Pacific (Kiribati, Nauru, etc.)
We’re likely looking to honeymoon in the summer months (June–August). I had my fiancée get scuba certified for our Secas trip and she loved it, so somewhere with great diving is a bonus—but not a must (as evidenced by my interest in Bhutan).
Would love any and all ideas—thank you!
