Mid-June 2024 Caribbean Honeymoon

Hey all!

My husband & I are hoping to plan a honeymoon from Chicago to the Caribbean in mid-June. We've never traveled anywhere in the Caribbean so I'm looking for some advice & to have a few questions answered. We're hoping to stay around $4k, if possible, but are open to spending a bit more if worth it. We're not sure exactly where we'd like to go, but know that we DON'T want Jamaica, the DR, or Mexico.

1. Is 5 nights enough time or should we look to stay a whole week?
2. Are all-inclusives worth it or should we explore Vrbos/Airbnbs? We like the idea of having food/ drinks included but aren't sure what excursions would be included & how much people actually end up doing them.

We generally love hanging out & lounging by the pool/beach, exploring local towns/experiencing the culture of an area, good food/drinks, & maybe a boat ride, snorkeling, live music
