Need Help Deciding on which islands for French Polynesia in May 2025

Hi all! My fiance and I decided on French Polynesia for our may 2025 honeymoon. I need some help deciding which islands we should stay at. We are planning to be there for 10 nights. I definitely want to go to Moorea. However, I am not sure if staying there 10 full nights is a mistake. I would like some recommendations as to if we should go to a second island, and if so, which islands? I’ve heard bora bora is very expensive, but it does look amazing. For Tahiti, I am seeing conflicting info. Some people say don’t skip it while others say it’s not so great. Any recommendations would be awesome.

A little about us: we are late 20s/early 30s. We love the beach and water activities. We are both really avid hikers too, so somewhere with hikes and beach is ideal to switch it up. Bonus if we can see a waterfall and/or active volcano somewhere (but that isn’t a necessity). We both don’t drink and don’t care for night life.
