Hi all,
I would love some help coming up with ideas for a 2ish week honeymoon for late May to early June that is not your traditional lay on the beach all day. An all inclusive is our nightmare!
My fiance and I are two medical students that are getting married near the end of May 2025 right before graduation after being together for 8 years. We only have 3 weeks MAX to take a honeymmon from May 24th to June 14th (this would be pushing it). Originally we wanted to go to Greece and Turkey then I realized this would be too much, so we narrowed it down to Turkey. We thought it would be a good mix of culture, food, adventure, romance (hot air ballons), but now I am feeling like it is going to be a lot of work to plan a Turkey honeymoon on top of our wedding and med school things, so I am thinking of other options…
Budget: 10k ideal including flights
Time frame: 1.5 – 2.5 weeks, late May to early June, willing to take a shorter honeymoon if the place is more expensive but worth it
Leaving from: West Coast USA, willing to spend a full day on travel if it's worth it
Interests:
- culture
- nature
- food
- romance
- adventure
- *some* rest/relax
We have been to Japan and Belize. In Japan we loved the food, culture, rural/urban mix, shopping, nature, relaxation at the onsen. In Belize, we loved visiting Tikal, ATM, Mayan culture, the food, the animals/nature, snorkeling. We left San Pedro, Belize early because we thought it was way too touristy and the beaches weren't great, so this really isnt our vibe.
TLDR; looking for advice on 2ish week honeymmon leaving from West Coast USA late May 10k budget max interested in adventure, nature, culture, food, rest/relaxation.
Thanks y'all!
