Planning a honeymoon to Spain&Portugal in A WEEK! Please help with logistics suggestions

Okay so we went through an insane amount of life changes from me losing a job, to my now husband getting an offer for a new job yesterday.

Because everything was uncertain, we left the honeymoon hanging until better times. But suddenly, we have a gap of time between now and a new job start date that we could actually do our trip.

I usually love planning these things, but now I feel so overwhelmed with options, I don’t know where to start.

Here are some details that I think would be relevant:

Flying out of San Diego/Los Angeles – willing to drive to LAX to save a couple hundred $$

Flying into – literally any of the cities we will decide to go to

Departure date: Sep 14-16; Return: Oct 4

What I want to decide are the best destinations within those countries. We love the city but I think we’re both craving scenery in this trip (Madeira, Algarve, Ibiza, etc) However, cultural experiences are very important, so the core cities I think are a must. Also, I love wine!
