Recommendations wanted: I want tropical/beachy, he wants mountains/pubs

Hi all. I am getting married to my bestie in June 2026 and we haven’t really settled on a honeymoon destination. There’s a good chance we will delay the trip for a few months after the wedding to continue saving up for it, I’m currently looking into best options for a travel rewards credit card to help with airfare/accommodations. While we might get a little bit from family to put towards it, it’s more likely we will fund most of it ourselves. For the time being, I’d estimate $10k as the maximum including airfare, accommodations, etc. Maybe 7-10 days total, traveling out of Denver.

The thing is, we have slightly different “ideals” for a big trip. He would ultimately be happy to defer to whatever I want to do, but I don’t wanna just completely go my own way and neglect what he’d choose if it were all up to him.

Me: tropical, beachy, luxurious, romantic, some places I’ve had in mind are Italy, Greece, Thailand, and Hawaii. Definitely open to all-inclusives.

Him: serene, no crowds, a cozy cabin, beautiful green landscape, mountains/lakes are a plus, pubs/breweries. His ideal vacation would be Ireland, Scotland, or Alaska. (We live in CO so cozy cabins, beautiful scenery, breweries are always nearby… maybe why he’s so willing to defer to me 😅)

Both of us: like having options for active things to do outside during the day, but also somewhere you can just enjoy relaxing where you are. Both love cooking and great food and would be interested in taking a class to learn the cuisine of wherever we go. Love live music. Wouldn’t want to go out every night, but a lively night or 2 out might be nice. Not big fans of overly touristy places, more interested in creating our own experiences a little bit off the beaten path.

Question: are there places that might be a good fit for both of our interests? Would love recommendations for destinations and specific accommodations if you’ve got em!
