Redwoods – help!

Hello!

I have only ever been to southern California and my husband hasn't been, well, anywhere other than here (Twin Cities, Minnesota) really! We are planning our 5-6 day honeymoon and were thinking the redwoods. We want to go in about a month, over MEA week – so mid-october.

Budget: 3-3.5k

Do we fly into San francisco and rent a car? Do we do an Air BnB or a nice hotel? No camping. What are some must-do's? We have no idea what we are doing. Any advice is appreciated.
