Regret flying economy?

I know a lot of people will fly first/business class for their honeymoon. We have never flown outside of coach and frankly aren’t eager to “break the seal” on flying business since we would have to go back to coach afterwards.

We are going to NZ for our Nov ‘26 honeymoon for 2 weeks. There is a nonstop, 17 hour flight from our city to Auckland on Qantas. Originally I planned on booking biz class using points (300k chase points and 200k Amex points) but it seems harder than anticipated, they only release a few seats for points bookings, you have to be online 365 days exactly in advance… just makes me nervous to transfer my points to Qantas, fail to make the booking, and not be able to transfer them back to Amex.

So now we are leaning towards just flying economy. Our honeymoon budget is $25k all in and paying cash for biz/first is like $10k each so that’s obviously not happening. We have flown a lot and I have flown a 17 hour flight then hopped directly on another 17 hour flight (both in coach) so I honestly think it will just be a little miserable but then we’ll be there and forget all about it. Opinions?!
