Resorts in Philippines in January

Hi all,

Looking for advice on resort (with or without all inclusive) recommendations from those with experience in the Philippines in January. I know parts of the Philippines are in rainier season than others in January so thinking El Nido (I have been once before too), but curious to hear of anywhere else like Boracay that would fit our needs!

We will plan to be in Philippines for 5 days + 2 partial travel days (coming from Australia then going to Singapore). Ideal situation would be a few days on a private island resort to relax/snorkel/boat and which has more romantic inclusions after our wedding and then a few days closer the hustle and bustle of town, good restaurants (we are foodies) and a bar scene (even just beach bars!).

What I’ve looked into so far (El Nido specifically):

• Pangulasian (1st choice so far?)
• Cauayan (loved but recent 1 star reviews scare me)
• Miniloc (not beachy enough?)
• Lagen (also not beach front property?)
• Amanpulo (required flight in puts us too over budget)

Budget for accommodations: $6k USD (the first two resorts are ~1.2k per night for beach front or over water bungalow)
