We are narrowing it down to these two options for May of 2026. We want to go directly after our wedding, like literally leaving the next day.
I’m favoring Secrets because I think it will be infinitely easier to plan. Right now, Fairmont is $2k cheaper but does not include any food or drinks. The price does include flights and a rental car, so that’s definitely a plus, but I’m worried about having to plan a whole itinerary as opposed to having a more relaxed experience at Secrets. My fiancé is undecided and wants to look into both options more. If he is dead set on Maui, then that’s where we will go with because I know I will be happy with either one once it’s planned out.
Anyone have experience with either one? I’m also a bit nervous going to Maui because of Lahaina. I don’t want to be disrespectful to the local community, and if we did go to Maui, obviously we would support the local economy, and we would research more to be good tourists there, but I also don’t want to be a bother if it’s really just not ok to be there right now since they’re rebuilding.
