Good morning!
My fiancé and I are getting married in October. Since she’s a school teacher and I’m a farmer, we’re not keen on taking a honeymoon right after the wedding. Instead, we’re considering traveling after Christmas, ideally leaving on the 27th and returning before the 7th when she goes back to school.
Neither of us are avid travelers. We’ve been to Florida and to Montana/Wyoming several times, but we haven’t ventured outside the country. My fiancé has given me the responsibility of planning the honeymoon. While many people our age choose destinations like Florida, Vegas, or Tennessee, I’d like to do something a bit different. I’ve told her I’m not a fan of the beach, and she’s open to that. If we stay in the US and go to the mountains, we’ll revisit Wyoming or Montana. If we decide on a beach destination, I’d like to make it special by going to Hawaii.
My sister suggested looking into international options, as she’s had great experiences with EF Ultimate Breaks. She proposed either Costa Rica/Panama or Ireland (since we’re both Irish). Both options would be over New Year’s. I’ll share links to these trips soon, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on Ireland and Costa Rica! I’ve never traveled outside the US, so I’m both nervous and excited. Also, we don’t have passports yet and aren’t sure about the process for getting them.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
