Before anyone says it, yes I know it is the busy season but unfortunately the only time we will get leave. Being proactive and planning my honeymoon well ahead of time (my fiancée is doing majority of the wedding planning, I enjoy planning our trips).
My heart is set on the Philippines, been on my bucket list for the longest time. But I am having doubts as we live in South Africa and in terms of all the South Asia countries, this is practically the furthest away from us, and travelling between the islands seems a bit tricky (doable but want to minimise as much as possible). So far my idea would be Cebu -> Coron -> El NIdo and leave from Cebu again.
I've done Thailand and loved it – my fiancée has not but I know she'd love it too. Vietnam seems to be the cheapest option, and then there is Bali too but I feel it might be my last choice right now. Maldives is up our alley but I feel I might get bored for 2+ plus weeks of just lounging around.
We would be looking for resorts and amazing beaches, plenty of relaxing with some nightlife sprinkled in. All inclusive resorts in South East Asia seem to be exclusive to the really fancy 5 stars – while I wish we could do that for our 2-ish weeks we'd be going, financially with the wedding this seems highly unlikely. Any suggestions here? Anyone done the same that can steer me with some guidance?
