Vietnam/Thailand Honeymoon Help!

I’m in the middle of planning our honeymoon for this December (a little last-minute, I know—we’ve been pretty tied up with wedding planning!). We’re hoping for a mix of relaxation and adventure. We’ve already researched a few hotels that still have availability, but would love any input or recommendations.

Right now, we’re leaning toward starting in Phuket. I’ve been before, but my fiancé hasn’t, and the resort and city there feel perfect for celebrating New Year’s. That said, if anyone has suggestions for spots in Vietnam with a similar vibe, we’d definitely be open to them. I’ve heard Ninh Bay is gorgeous, though I’m not sure how best to work it into the trip without making the itinerary feel too rushed.

Here’s what we’re thinking so far:

• Dec 26: Travel day
• Dec 27 – Jan 1 (5 nights): Phuket
  • Hotels: Keemala, Sri Panwa, or Noku
• Jan 1 – Jan 4 (3 nights): Ho Chi Minh City
  • Hotels: Sofitel Saigon Plaza or La Siesta Premium
• Jan 4 – Jan 7 (3 nights): Hoi An or Da Nang
  • Hotels: Banyan Tree, Hilton Da Nang, Namia River Retreat, La Siesta Hoi An, or Anantara Hoi An
• Jan 7 – Jan 10 (3 nights): Hanoi with Ha Long Bay day cruise
  • Hotel: Oriental Jade (open to other suggestions)
  • Cruise: Stellar of the Seas
• Jan 10: Flight home
