We are torn between Khao Lak or Krabi, any input or suggestions?

Hey all, we are stuck between the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Khao Lak and the Banyan Tree in Krabi and need some help deciding.

We can afford 8 nights at Banyan vs 14 at JW and still come in under budget meaning we would not only get a longer trip but we can take advantage of the Spa a lot more if we wanted to. JW also has a lot more activities nearby that we can see, elephant sanctuaries, and a town right there we can take advantage of. That being said, Banyan being secluded is also one of the benefits to it as it would be nice to be left alone and relax without having to worry about people or hustle and bustle, even if we can only get the base garden view room. It does seem more limited for activites and the nearest town looks like 30min away.

Does anyone have any input or experience at these locations to help us decide?
