TLDR: we have only ever been on group / family trips so we don’t actually know what type of honeymoon we would most enjoy – we don’t know how to create the dream honeymoon!
This will probably sound super sad and boring but my now husband and I haven’t actually been on many trips together. Every year we do a holiday with his family where we will stay in a villa with pool in Europe but in fairly remote places. So it mainly exists of grocery trips, dinners, hanging by the pool etc etc.
This is in contrast to the few I went on with my family where we’d go to a hotel / resort for a week and do a lot of sightseeing.
My husband and I have been on group trips only with the exception of one weekend staycation in the UK during the winter.
Since the honeymoon will be one of the most expensive trips we’ll go on in probably quite a few years I want to make sure we get it right. On one hand we can go for a beautiful beach holiday and stay in an amazing resort with a couple of excursions but neither of us sunbathe (but we like swimming in the sea). My concern is if we’ll get bored?
Alternatively we’ve been looking at adventure packed honeymoons going to multiple destinations and hotels with a bunch of activities. But then I know I won’t actually ‘relax’.
Basically the point is – how can I book the perfect honeymoon without knowing what we actually enjoy together travelling as a couple! I’m thinking maybe a cheaper ‘tester’ holiday before the big splurge??
