Where to go for beach / nature honeymoon in mid June

Looking for ideas on where to go for our honeymoon in mid June. We want to go within a couple of days after our wedding so will be looking at going approx. 6th June, wanting to go for 12-14 days. We’re looking for mostly relaxation (beach & pool), with a few days of excursions / things to do, and some Nature (eg. waterfalls / gentle short hikes). We’d be going from the UK (probably London). Our budget is around £5000 (including flights for both of us, accommodation and food) but could stretch to £6000 if it gives us everything we’re looking for.

These are our requirements: – Warm / hot. – Some nice beaches. – Some things to do in nature eg. See waterfalls, gentle short hikes, see scenery. – A day snorkelling, possibly some other wildlife eg. Dolphins or turtles. We don’t want to do a safari however. – We’d be up for a glass bottomed boat trip or some kayaking / paddle boarding, but other than that we’re not really water sports or diving people so not bothered about those. – Not in Europe (we want somewhere we can’t just pop to for a week’s family holiday in future). – Flight time less than 14hrs, ideally direct flight from London. – We’d be willing to move between two areas on the same island, or have a short domestic flight between two islands to get the beach vs. Nature aspect. But we don’t want a full twin centre holiday with 2 separate destinations eg. A layover in one place before going on to another country. We also don’t want to do a cruise, or be travelling around lots of different destinations in the same country. – Private plunge pool with a view for a few of the days (eg. At a second hotel for the final few days). – Ideally half board or all inclusive (we’re not big drinkers so wouldn’t mind doing half board and just paying for lunch). We’d consider Bed & Breakfast if there were a few options of restaurants nearby and the price of accommodation was cheap enough to leave some budget for food. – Not Zanzibar, Vietnam, Cambodia (been before).

We loved the look of Mauritius but we’re worried it’s not going to be very warm. We loved the idea of doing a week on a beach resort there, and then moving to a hotel in the hills with a private plunge pool for the final few days. That would be our ideal honeymoon. However it looks like the pools aren’t heated so we’re worried it’s going to be too cold to enjoy relaxation time in the pool. We’re also worried it won’t be warm enough to enjoy days lazing on the beach.

We also looked at St Lucia but it looks like the hotels they have in the hillside with a plunge pool are well out of our price range.

We don’t mind if it rains a bit eg. For an hour a day, as long as it’s warm most of the time.

Any ideas of where we could go that would fit the vibe we’re going for, in our price range? Thanks for reading this far.
