My fiancé and I are debating where to go for our honeymoon in late June/early July. We are fairly settled on going somewhere in the Mediterranean – we had an amazing trip to Mallorca two years ago and would love to have a similar experience, with a mix of beautiful beaches, hiking, interesting historic towns, nice restaurants, and elevated hotels/resorts. We are planning on going for around 8-10 days.
We had initially been thinking about hopping between a few Greek Islands, but a well-travelled friend recommended Corsica or Sardinia as less crowded options for that time of year. I speak French, so we're drawn to Corsica for that reason, but I don't know how much that matters, as I expect we can get by with English in any of these places.
Would welcome thoughts on Corsica vs. Sardinia vs. Crete/other Greek islands as well as any other recommendations for spots that might fit the bill! And would also welcome recommendations for nice hotels/resorts in any and all of these places.
