Where to Honeymoon September 2026

Looking for some ideas on where to honeymoon in September! My fiancé and are hoping to book soon since most places seem to allow for this 12-13 months out. Ideally, we’re looking for at least 7 days but would prefer 10-14 if possible. Below is some information on what we’ve looked at so far to help narrow down the search :

What we’re looking for

We greatly appreciate nature but we’d be lying if we said we were avid hikers. We’re ideally looking for a place that allows for a laid-back beach experience while also encouraging exploration of landscape at our own pace.

We’re also big foodies, so while we’ve never been to an all-inclusive resort, we’re slightly worried the food might disappoint. Looking forward to feedback in case we’re overthinking this, particularly for our first experience at an all-inclusive.

We do drink, but not heavily. Something like a vineyard tour would be fun, but we don’t need to worry too much about spending too much on alcohol.

Places we’re interested in

Europe: – France – Italy – Spain – Portugal

Americas – Mexico (Cabo, Cancun) – Dominican Republic (unideal for hurricane season) – Hawaii – California

Travel Partners

  • Travel agent I know through family
  • Chase Ultimate Rewards program (300k+ points to use)
  • Access to Costco Travel

Places we’ve looked at

  • The Cape, A Thompson Hotel
  • Grand Hyatt Kauai
  • Andaz Maui at Wailea
  • Secrets Akamai Riviera Maya
  • Alila Ventana Big Sur
  • Alila Napa Valley
  • Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana
  • Impressiona Isla Mujeres

I’m invested in the Hyatt ecosystem, which is why we’ve mostly been looking at Hyatts, but we’re not closed off to other brands. We understand it’s hard to hit even 7 days at most properties listed above with 300k points, which is why we’d really appreciate feedback from you all on other properties or locations that may fit our criteria.

Regarding travel agents, I know of one through a family member that I will likely be working through. I’m hoping to narrow down some choices to not overwhelm them when reaching out. Appreciate any and all feedback!
