Advice about honeymoon to Italy in September, mostly countryside outside of Venice but we would have to have at least one day trip there too of course lol

We’ve never been to Italy, much less outside of the country, we are working on gathering all we need for passports as of right now but haven’t invested in them yet because we are still trying to figure out if we should go. Thoughts? Any personal experience tips?
