Anyone have any experience with "Las Alamandas" in Mexico?

Looking at the website and some reviews online. It looks pretty cool, but something that gives me pause is that even with the packages offered on their website, it seems like there's a hefty charge for doing practically anything there. It also seems unclear what the deal is for food, there's a mention of a meal plan for $145 per person per night (plus tax and service fee whew)

Am I reading this right? Our budget is flexible but I guess I'd feel weird paying $50 just to have a picnic on the beach
