Are sandals resorts worth it?

My fiancé and I have been looking for months now for our honeymoon destination. Since we are getting married next Sept and wanted a tropical honeymoon, we are looking below the hurricane belt. Our travel agent suggested Sandals Grande St. Lucia as we want an over the water bungalow that is adults only. We have been to Jamaica and Aruba so we are not interested in resorts there. We were so sold on the St. Lucia Grande location (after doubling our honeymoon budget), but after reading several recent negative reviews on Google, we are skeptical.

I don’t mind paying a luxury price for a luxury service. What I do mind is paying luxury prices for cold food, dirty rooms, and rude staff. Can anyone put our minds at ease?

We stayed at the all couples Bahia Principe in Jamaica after several people recommended it to us, and we had an awful experience. I know it’s not Sandals, but our last “luxury resort” AI was so disappointing I can’t imagine spending $20k just to be disappointed.

Also looking at the Serenity at coconut bay which seems to be great, but not sure if beach activities are included. Any advice or helpful guidance is appreciated.
