Bali for first timers

Hi everyone. I’ve done a bit of research before coming here as I’m sure the same questions are constantly posted.

My fiancée and I are going to book Bali for our honeymoon for between May – July 2024, most likely June 2024 for 3 weeks. What do you think of this time frame?

We will be flying from Ireland, so will probably stop in Dubai for a couple of nights on the way and return. Singapore was an option too and Hong Kong. I think our airline options are emirates and maybe Qatar airways, not sure if Cathay Pacific still flying from Dublin.

We will both be 30. We don’t want to move around an awful lot and want a luxurious relaxing holiday. From research – is it best to spend our time in Seminyak, Nusa Dua? With maybe a few trips to Gili islands and/or Lombok?

Neither of us have been to Indonesia before. We are foodies and like a few drinks each night with plenty of choice of bars and restaurants. We didn’t pick remote islands like Maldives etc for our ho Dunoon as we don’t want to go somewhere with no atmosphere either.

Would like a few activities too as were both physically fit.

Lastly – we usually book all our trips ourselves direct with airline and reserve accom on booking.com before booking directly with provider closer to time, does this work for Bali ? We’ve never dealt with travel agents.

Should we book soon ? Our budget is probably about £5K sterling (GBP)
