Beach destinations for middle of summer?

Getting married end of July, literally the dead of summer. My fiancé really wants to go somewhere with a beach for the honeymoon. She suggested Ft Myers, FL, but I’m thinking southern Florida in the dead of summer may be a bit much. I suggested Hilton Head, SC as a possibility. Any other suggestions for beach destinations in the middle of summer for a honey moon? Prefer to stay in the US.
