Beach Honeymoon for Early/Mid October 2025

Hi everyone!

Looking for recommendations for a (mostly) lazy beach honeymoon destination for early/mid October of next year. Our wedding date is Friday, Oct. 3, 2025 and we'd like to leave for our honeymoon shortly after for 7+ nights. Our rough budget is $5000 but is flexible.

The only beach destination we have traveled to is Akumal, Riviera Maya, Mexico last February which we loved but we stayed at a cheaper AI (Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal) and want something a little nicer for our honeymoon. I know October is going to land us in hurricane season so we're definitely open to tropical destinations that are outside of the hurricane belt. Here are some wants:

• Tropical/beach destination with Caribbean blue waters
• All inclusive, adults only
• Beautiful resort grounds with jungle-like/nature feel (this was one thing we loved about the Bahia Akumal)
• Sandy beach with swimmable conditions
• Opportunity for some adventurous excursions (hiking, snorkeling, etc.)
• Nightlife (dance club or drink lounge)
• Ability to reserve cabana/chairs – we don't want to have to play chair games for a spot at the beach

We've so far have been looking at the following (we know they are within the hurricane belt, but we loved the area when we visited):

• Secrets Akumal
• Excellence Playa Mujeres

We are interested in other destinations such as the DR, Jamaica, St. Lucia but would love to hear people's recommendations for an early/mid October honeymoon! Thank you 🙂
