Hello all my fellow honeymoon planners!

TLDR: Best honeymoon district & accommodation for active childless 30 year olds in Langkawi

My husband to be and I are planning a honeymoon to Malaysia in May/June.
We have our flights and some of the accommodation booked already (5 nights in Kuala Lumpur – self catering, modern apart-hotel, 3 nights in Penang – a room in an old Chinese mansion with a jacuzzi bath) but need some advice for our 5 nights in Langkawi!

We are on a moderate budget, happy to splash a little but I'm seeing some crazy prices!
I think our budget is around 1000 – 2000 euro in total for the 5 nights.
We are looking to be pampered (so 4 stars upwards would be preferable but as long as it has good reviews that's the main thing!), somewhere relaxing and quiet with a beach nearby (or on the doorstep), but with some amenities nearby so we can go out and sample the local cuisine and culture (we don't want to be stuck in the hotel/resort the entire time.. we like to explore!)

We are Irish, 29 & 30 years old with active lifestyles. We enjoy a drink and love food! We have no children so would like to stay somewhere that isn't crawling with kids, but we've stayed in adult-only resorts before and they were just dull..

We have heard that Pantai Cenang is a good spot and have found two resorts within budget that look nice, but are concerned they may be too impersonal/family oriented… (Pelangi Beach Resort and Casa Del Mar) Has anyone been to either of these places? How did you find them?

I've also found a gorgeous hotel "Berjaya" in Pantai Kok (near the skywalk) but this looks like it might be too quiet… has anyone stayed hear or know about the area?
