Canada/Caribbean From Dublin

My fiancé and myself are starting to think about our Honeymoon (getting married March 2026). We are looking at going around April 2026 and while I know we are too early to book right now, we both want to get as much info as possible before making our decision.

We will be flying out of Dublin and we are thinking about 2 weeks in total with the first week spent in Toronto and the 2nd week spent in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic with the idea of the first week involving lots of sightseeing/activities and the second week being more relaxing. We like the idea of early April as more sports will be available at that time of year in Toronto and it also avoids the main hurricane season in Punta Cana.

We have never been to Canada or the Dominican Republic (or anywhere in the Caribbean) before, has anyone any advice on this trip? We’re also open to other locations as long as the flights are in some way reasonable durations. At this point in time you can fly direct from Dublin to Toronto, direct from Toronto to Punta Cana and then one stopover on the return flights.
